Know Your Role

Everyone wants someone to be their Prophet, Priest, and King.

We are looking for a Prophet to speak into our lives.
We are looking or a Priest to love us no matter what.
We are looking for a King to lead our lives.

Bottom Line: Know Jesusroles for you to know your role for Him.

1. Jesus is the True Prophet

Deuteronomy 18:15

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothersit is to him you shall listen18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

John 6:14

When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!

2. Jesus is the High Priest

1 Samuel 2:35

And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind. And I will build him a sure house, and he shall go in and out before my anointed forever.

Hebrews 4:14

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

3. Jesus is the Eternal King

John 18:37

Then Pilate said to him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the worldto bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.

Ephesians 1:20-23

That he worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Jesus lived as our Prophet.
Jesus died as our Priest.
Jesus rose as our King.
Live like Jesus as our Prophet.
Live with Jesus as our Priest.
Live for Him as our King.

Are you more prophet, priest, or king?
