5 Ways Jesus' Sacrifice Changes Your Life

by Pastor Chip Dean

1. The Burnt Offering.

(Leviticus 1, 6:1-13)
Leviticus 1:2

Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or from the flock. 3If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish. He shall bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting, that he may be acceptedbefore the Lord. 4He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. 5Then he shall kill the bull before the Lord, and Aarons sons the priests shall bring the blood and throw the blood against the sides of the altar that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 9 And the priest shall burn all of it on the altar, as a burnt offering, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Ephesians 5:2

Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice for a sweet-smelling aroma.

2. The Grain Offering

(Leviticus 2, 6:14-23)
Leviticus 2:1

When anyone brings a grain offering as an offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. He shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it 2and bring it to Aarons sons the priests. And he shall take from it a handful of the fine flour and oil, with all of its frankincense, and the priest shall burn this as its memorial portion on the altar, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

2 Corinthians 2:15

For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

3. The Peace Offering

(Leviticus 3, 7:11-36)
Leviticus 3:1

If his offering is a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offers an animal from the herd, male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the Lord.

Romans 5:1

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

4. The Sin Offering

(Leviticus 4:1 - 5:13, 6:24 - 30)
Leviticus 4:1

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2Speak to the people of Israel, saying, If anyone sins unintentionally in any of the Lords commandments about things not to be done, and does any one of them, 3if it is the anointed priest who sins, thus bringing guilt on the people, then he shall offer for the sin that he has committed a bull from the herd without blemish to the Lord for a sin offering.

2 Corinthians 5:21

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

5. The Guilt Offering

(Leviticus 5:14 - 6:7, 7:1-10)
Leviticus 6:7

And the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord, and he shall be forgiven for any of the things that one may do and thereby become guilty.

Hebrews 10:11

And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.

Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

FELLOWSHIP OF THE UNASHAMED

I am part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.
The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made.
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I wont look back, let up, slow down,
back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present
makes sense, and my future is secure.

I am finished and done with low living, sight walking,
small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams,
chintzy giving, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position,
promotions, plaudits, or popularity.
I now live by presence,
lean by faith,
love by patience,
lift by prayer,
and labor by power.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven, my
road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions few,
my Guide reliable, my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, deterred,
lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice,
hesitate in the presence of adversity,
negotiate at the table of the enemy,
ponder at the pool of popularity,
or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I must go until Heaven returns,
give until I drop,
preach until all know,
and work until He comes.
And when He comes to get His own,
He will have no problem recognizing me.
My colors will be clear.
